Disclosure and International Transfers
To provide the Netflix service, we sometimes need to transfer your personal information to other countries, including those outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom (UK). The countries to which we transfer data are listed below. Whenever we transfer your personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure that it remains protected in line with applicable data protection laws and our internal policies. Specifically, we use one or more of the following legal safeguards if we transfer your personal information outside of the EEA or UK:
Adequacy decisions: For countries that the European Commission or UK government has officially recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection (such as Canada, Japan, South Korea and the UK), we rely on these adequacy decisions for transfers. Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For transfers to countries that do not benefit from an adequacy decision and for transfers to the US, we (also) use EU/UK approved legal agreements known as SCCs to help ensure your data remains protected. You can find these SCCs here and here.
