Office Romance is sealed with a kiss — or at least that’s how it appears. The rom-com hits its crescendo as airline CEO Jackie Cruz (Jennifer Lopez) and company lawyer Daniel Blanchflower (co-writer Brett Goldstein) announce their relationship in front of colleagues and cameras alike. As they share a swoon-inducing smooch, it feels like everything is going to be alright for Office Romance’s stars, no matter what the AirCruz dating policy says.

And then we get proof that Jackie and Daniel are better than okay: They’re engaged! The news comes in a post-credits scene hiding about 10 seconds after the movie fades to black. The unexpected Office Romance epilogue doesn’t merely reveal Jackie and Daniel’s fate — it also exposes the shocking (and NSFW) truth about all their AirCruz coworkers, including Jackie’s BFF, new mom Sydney Bloom (Betty Gilpin). So which secrets are spilled, much to the dismay of HR lead George Dudek (Tony Hale)? Keep reading to find out. …

What is the Office Romance post-credits scene?

The closing scene is set in George’s HR office. Following Jackie and Daniel’s very public romantic disclosure, office relationships are now permitted at AirCruz, as long as they’re declared. Nearly the entire office is elated by the memo, and can’t wait to reveal their bedroom — and office — escapades.

“We had this great cast, and it’s a great way to give them more to do,” Office Romance director Ol Parker says. “It's nice to end with some cracking laughs.”

Parker explains that co-writer Joe Kelly wrote the scene in a single afternoon, and the crew shot it in one day. “And Tony Hale is obviously a genius and the nicest guy,” the director continues. “It was just really lovely for me.”

Who is the father of Sydney’s baby?

Early in Office Romance, then-pregnant Sydney says she was artificially inseminated “to avoid the distractions of a relationship.” While that claim might lead you to assume the father of Sydney’s baby is an unknown sperm donor, that’s anything but the case. Instead, as Sydney confirms to George in the post-credits scene, Marcus from the mail room is the daddy (and the “creator of many, many, many orgasms”). The two have been sleeping together for about a year and a half.

Sydney seemingly made up the “artificial insemination” story to avoid violating the original AirCruz policy against office relationships of any kind.

Are there any hints in Office Romance that Sydney and Marcus are hooking up?

Although we never catch Sydney and her “hot elf” Marcus in any compromising positions, there are hints throughout the movie that these two are closer than meets the eye. In Sydney’s first scene, she hands Marcus a piece of paper and orders him to get it down to legal. “Right away, Miss Bloom,” he says obediently. Jackie catches the overly formal reaction, and points it out. Rather than explain, Sydney avoids the comment and abruptly steers the conversation toward business. Hm

Later in the movie, Sydney returns to the office the day after giving birth. As she staggers in, Jackie and most of their colleagues stare on in horror and concern. Marcus, on the other hand, springs into action in the background. He immediately walks away — for reasons unknown. But when Sydney begins to collapse, Marcus’s fast movement makes sense: He was preemptively obtaining a chair for Sydney to fall into. It might be subtle, but Marcus clearly cares about Sydney’s postpartum well-being.

What else do we learn in the Office Romance post-credits scene?

Here’s the lowdown on who else is hooking up at AirCruz:

  • Clair (Mary Wiseman) and Heather (Natalie Ortega) have been seeing each other. Thanks to an intimate development in their relationship, Clair has learned that circles are her favorite shape.
  • Dave (Scott Seiss) has been using his company devices for less-than-professional interests. He’s also enjoyed a meal with many of his coworkers, and each of his dining companions should seek medical attention.
  • Rachel (Michelle Hurd) and Peter Vance (Bradley Whitford) “made love” at the office Christmas party — and the individual who screamed during the encounter is not the one you’d think.
  • Caroline (Jackie Sandler) and her co-worker Gary are together. Luke (Stephen Park) watches — and is a key member of the team.
  • Maggie (Ali Stroker) and Henry (Donald Elise Watkins) want to make their office roles more efficient. They’re also sleeping together.
  • Julie Shatz (Amy Sedaris) doesn’t work at AirCruz, but she’d very much like to after learning about the company’s erotic vibe.
  • Debbie (Mo Welch) is up for it, whatever it might be. Just check the signs, before they’re taken down.
  • George has a dalliance of his own with co-worker Frederick (Brian Gallivan), who’s hiding behind George’s office door in little more than a birthday suit. Thank God Frederick could grab an AirCruz folder, just in case.
  • Jackie and Daniel are engaged and planning a destination wedding in London. Free flights for everyone!
