Murderville is coming home for the holidays, but it’s not all good news — Santa is dead, and the killer is on the loose. Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) is on the case, and in classic Murderville fashion he’s bringing along a few friends. This time, the episode’s celebrity guests are Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph, and as usual they have no idea what’s about to happen — rather than working from a script, the pair will improvise their way through a vintage Murderville Christmas. Will they be able to crack the case and find out Who Killed Santa?

The first season of Murderville featured a rotating cast of celebrity guest stars, all doing their best to assist Detective Seattle in his day-to-day caseload. Their mileage varied — Conan O’Brien? Not a bad detective. Ken Jeong? Don’t quit your day job, Dr. Ken. Where Bateman and Rudolph will fall on the Murderville continuum remains to be seen, but our fingers are crossed: Christmas is on the line.

Murderville is based on the BAFTA Award–winning BBC3 series Murder in Successville; the showrunner is Krister Johnson, writer of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. Alongside Arnett, Bateman and Rudolph, Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery stars Eliza Coupe, Kurt Braunohler, Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden, Dennice Cisneros, Tawny Newsome and Courtney Parchman — and a few surprise stars.

All will be revealed when the holiday special premieres on Netflix on Dec. 15. Get your magnifying glasses ready — it’s about to be a very whodunit Christmas.
