Everything You Need to Know About Netflix’s Holiday Events

Your guide to the holiday season, from the mall to the movies (and the coziest spot on your couch).

    Nov. 21, 2022

Ah, the holiday season. Some say it’s the best time of year — after all, it’s got family, friends, food, fun and plenty of extra time to snuggle up and watch your favorite films and shows. Of course, the holidays are also about balance. You definitely want to take time to relax, but you also want to make sure that you get the necessary amount of holiday cheer (not to mention plenty of time to shop). If you’re the type of person who appreciates a bit of holiday wonder from every corner, Netflix has you covered, starting with a special Slumberland-inspired float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then, it’s on to December, which has a host of exciting holiday moments to enjoy. From in-store shopping events and movie screenings to family-friendly photo opportunities and a jam-packed slate of new titles, this is your guide to everything Netflix and holiday chill.

Netflix Holiday House experiences

This year, Netflix has a number of IRL holiday experiences in store, starting with Holiday House, a festive experience located on the second floor of Netflix at The Grove in Los Angeles. Holiday House is an immersive destination for all things holiday cheer (inspired by your favorite Netflix shows and movies). Special moments include a holiday vignette that’s perfect for capturing family photos, a jaunt inside the famed detective office of Enola Holmes, an exploration of Matilda’s musical library, a School for Good and Evil Wishing Tree, an Emily in Paris–inspired photo op (Eiffel Tower included, of course), a Slumberland–inspired time-traveling bed and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio

For those who need a bit of practical task-mastering to go along with their holiday fun, there’s another reason to visit Holiday House: Just downstairs at Netflix at The Grove, there’s enchanting shopping, with new fan-favorite products added every day. TLDR: If you need to check some Stranger Things superfans off your holiday shopping list, a pass through Netflix at The Grove is worthwhile. And if you can’t make it to Los Angeles, be sure to check out Netflix.shop, which has plenty of exclusive holiday gifts.

If you’re not stateside, don’t fret. From Dec. 1-4, Campbell House in Toronto will host Holiday House Toronto, where fans of all ages can enjoy Instagram-worthy photo moments, crafts, hot chocolate, treats and more.

What to watch on Netflix

Of course, some of the best parts of the holiday season are the ones spent on your couch, away from the buzz of shopping, crowds, family photos, and a seemingly endless landscape of red and green. When the time comes to wrap yourself in a blanket and turn on the TV, be sure to check out the 2022 Netflix holiday slate, which includes deliciously layered mysteries like Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Enola Holmes 2, Christmas rom-com starring Lindsay Lohan and a brand-new holiday season of The Great British Baking Show. Check out a full rundown of our holiday titles here — and if you didn’t get enough hot chocolate on your shopping trip, make sure to bring a nice, steamy mug with you to the couch.
