Physical: 100 Season 2 Is Muscling Its Way Back onto Your Screen

    This time, we’re heading underground.

    March 27, 2024

If you thought that Season 1 of Physical: 100 was larger-than-life, Season 2 is an even bigger flex.

That’s right — the Korean reality competition series made its triumphant return on March 19 and is pushing the limits again. In Physical: 100 Season 2 — Underground, the stakes are even higher, the challenges are even harder, and the arena — a massive mine — is even more extensive. But much is still familiar: Like before, a group of 100 diverse contestants of all ages, gender identities, and fitness backgrounds compete in various quests to determine who has the “ideal physique.” And as we’ve learned, the answer isn’t as obvious as you’d think.

“I got first place in the Strongman Contest in Korea, so I was kind of proud to be one of the strongest people in Korea,” Season 1 competitor Jo Jin-hyeong told Tudum during a Season 2 set tour last year. “But now that I've been [on Physical:100], I realize that there's this whole spectrum of strength. It's not just the physical might that you have, but there's these different things that you have to have all together to become that perfect physique.”

He and fellow competitor Jang Eun-sil, a South Korean national wrestler, crossfitter, and ssireum player, also had some advice for the Season 2 contestants. “To survive, you have to pour everything into this and just keep on going,” says Jang. “And people might double cross you. Never trust anyone. It's full of betrayal.” Jo emphasizes a similar sentiment, adding, “Everybody's your enemy. This is a very harsh world.”

Below, check out everything you need to know as the challengers work to smash the competition (and hopefully spare their plaster torsos). 화이팅!

When is the Physical: 100 Season 2 release date?

The episodes drop on March 19 in three staggered batches: Episodes 1-4 on the first drop, then Episodes 5-7 on March 26. Episodes 8 and 9 (the finale) will drop on April 2.

The contestants will also have a range of other professions, including FBI diplomats, actors, singers, police officers, and military personnel.

What is the prize for winning Physical: 100?

Besides having the honor of owning the “ideal physique,” the person who beats the other 99 contestants wins the equivalent of about $230,000.

Where is Physical: 100 Season 2 filmed?

The show takes place once again in South Korea — this time, however, within the backdrop of a giant underground mine.
