What do you get when you mix a crime-fighting kid, a superhero boot camp and a mysterious newbie with special powers? That’s right: Raising Dion Season 2.

After a two-year break, the superhero family show is back with eight more episodes. “Navigating twists, turns and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again — not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta,” the show’s synopsis reads.

The trailer shows Dion (Ja’Siah Young), two years after defeating the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter) in Season 1, trying to fight crime in his neighborhood — at the expense of his mom, Nicole (Alisha Wainwright). Now, he must learn to control his powers at Biona with new trainer Tevin (Rome Flynn), a hottie with a superhero body who catches Nicole’s eye. But after Dion befriends new superkid Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner) and sees darkness emerge at Biona, he learns that evil might not yet be defeated.

“Every powered person is at risk as long as that thing is out there,” Nicole warns. Could it be Pat Rollins, aka the Crooked Man, once again?

The series is based on a 2015 comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu, who is also an executive producer and will return to direct some episodes of Season 2. Michael B. Jordan will also be back to executive produce Season 2.

Raising Dion returns Feb. 1, but if after two years you can’t wait for a sneak peek, check out the official trailer below.
