After Sonic accidentally destroys Green Hill Zone, the Blue Blur has ventured through the Shatterspaces in an effort to collect Prism shards, fight off Dr. Eggman, and save his home. But with each new alternate reality comes a whole new set of problems for your favorite hedgehog. And his next battle is one he could have never seen coming! 

The latest episodes, drop 3, pick up right where we left Sonic in the last installment of Sonic Prime, in which he teamed up with his longtime rival Shadow to rebuild the Paradox Prism. But now Nine — an alternate Shatter Version of Sonic’s trusted friend Tails —  betrays Sonic and takes the Paradox Prism for himself. 

In this new batch of episodes, Sonic isn’t just racing to save his home of Green Hill, he’s racing to save the entire Shatterverse from his oldest friend, who has now become his greatest enemy. “You were only using me to get what you wanted,” Nine tells Sonic in the Season 3 clip. “Sorry, old friend. You’ve been replaced.”

What is Sonic Prime about? 

The series begins with a battle between Sonic and Dr. Eggman that results in a universe-shattering event — literally. While on an adventure to find the Paradox Prism before Dr. Eggman can get his hands on it, Sonic accidentally breaks it instead, causing a shatter in the universe with rippling effects. When he awakens, he finds himself stranded in multiple interconnected universes, collectively known as the Shatterverse, and his new friend Nine tries to help him find his way back. Sonic must now travel across the Shatterverse, as he hopes to save his old friends Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, and Big, along with his home, Green Hill Zone. While he encounters new obstacles in the various Shatter Spaces he enters, Sonic also finds new friends — and enemies — you never would have expected. 

What is Sonic Prime based on? 

Sonic Prime is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series by Sega. It is the sixth animated series in the franchise. 

When is the Sonic Prime season 3 release date?
