Pack your bags and grab your compasses, because a giant-sized adventure awaits when The Sea Beast debuts July 8.

From Academy Award–winning filmmaker Chris Williams (Moana, Big Hero 6, Bolt), this animated feature film will transport viewers to a world full of monsters — and the heroes who slay them, like legendary monster-hunter Jacob Holland. The official synopsis adds, “When young Maisie Brumble stows away on [Jacob’s] fabled ship, he’s saddled with an unexpected ally. Together they embark on an epic journey into uncharted waters and make history.”

With the brand-new teaser trailer released today, we get our first look at Jacob, Maisie and the beasts that live beneath the ocean’s waves. The action-packed clip is full of pirate ships, monstrous battles at sea and plenty of adventures to be had for the unlikely pair.

In addition to directing The Sea Beast, Williams also co-wrote the script with Nell Benjamin and produced alongside Jed Schlanger. The animated film features the voices of Karl Urban, Zaris-Angel Hator, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Dan Stevens and Kathy Burke.

You can watch the teaser trailer below, and keep your eyes peeled for all the beasts you can find — including a couple of cute ones along the way.
