Here’s a piece of gossip so juicy even Hope couldn’t hold it in: Virgin River has begun production on Season 5. As the rest of us were preparing to watch the drama of Season 4 unfold, the cast and crew — Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Annette O’Toole, Tim Matheson and Colin Lawrence — were getting ready to film the new season in Vancouver. 

The gang’s all here for the first Zoom table read of the season, and we have photographic proof below. 

Virgin River’s showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, who helmed the 2019 Netflix anthology series Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, tells Tudum: “I’m excited to be working with Netflix again, and I couldn’t be prouder to join the Virgin River family. Together with its stellar cast and amazing crew, we’ve got great things in store for our fans worldwide.”

Virgin River follows the lives of the residents of the eponymous Northern California town, including nurse practitioner Mel (Breckenridge), bar owner and veteran Jack (Henderson), town doctor Doc (Matheson), mayor Hope (O’Toole) and many more quirky characters.
