Author Alice Feeney, Tessa Thompson, and More on What to Expect from His & Hers

Alice Feeney, author of the best-selling novel His & Hers, shares her insights on seeing her story transformed from page to screen, reflecting on the adaptation process and the evolution of her characters. “I remember arriving on set for the first time, and it was as though my characters had come to life,” Feeney says, describing the surreal experience of watching her book take shape for television.

His & Hers, adapted from Feeney’s novel, follows journalist Anna Andrews (Tessa Thompson, who also produces) and Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal), estranged spouses who become entangled in a murder investigation that threatens to reveal secrets from their pasts. “There are always two sides to every story,” Thompson says.

Hear from Thompson, Bernthal, and more of the cast as they discuss what drew them to these complex roles and how they brought their characters to life.

Stream His & Hers Jan. 8, only on Netflix.
