Anna Kendrick on Her Childhood, Woman of the Hour, and More on Skip Intro

Anna Kendrick joins the show and reflects on what it was like to attend auditions as a kid, often traveling with her brother from Portland, Maine to New York City. Those early experiences on a wide range of sets helped shape her perception of fame and the industry from a young age. She also opens up about considering more musical roles in the future and what continues to inspire her creatively.

Later, Kendrick talks about stepping behind the camera for her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour — a tense thriller based on the true story of a woman (played by Kendrick) who reluctantly appears on the popular 1970s show The Dating Game, only to choose a bachelor that turns out to be a prolific serial killer (played by Daniel Zovatto). Kendrick explains how she ended up pitching herself as the film’s director, what it was like being on the other side of the casting process, and how she found her voice as a leader on set.
