Written and directed by Richard Linklater, it boasts a voice cast that includes Glen Powell and Jack Black. What makes this movie a fun family watch is how it walks the line between fact and fiction. Plus, the animation has a classic look with a modern polish, making it feel nostalgic and new at the same time.
Meet Chickenhare (Jordan Tartakow), an animal that’s half chicken and half hare, but doesn’t feel like he fits in as either one. He hopes to continue his dad’s quest to find the mythical Hamster of Darkness. Along the way, he encounters his evil uncle, ghost hamsters, and an attempted volcano sacrifice. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown plays the titular sleuth, with Henry Cavill portraying the well-known pipe-smoking detective (and Enola’s older brother), Sherlock Holmes. If you have fun watching this first film, in which Enola looks into the mysterious disappearance of her mother (Helena Bonham Carter), make it a double feature with Enola Holmes 2, in which the two siblings work together to solve the case of a missing girl.

Cats: The great enigma of our world. What are they thinking? Why are they staring at you like that? Why did they jump all the way up there? This wacky movie brings back Paul Reubens’s beloved and iconic ‘80s character for a whole new adventure, with no shortage of mischief, mishaps, and signature honk-laughs. Thanks to a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger (Joe Manganiello), Pee-wee ventures beyond his quiet hometown of Fairville to travel to New York City and attend his new friend’s birthday party. Of course, he stumbles into one hilarious scenario after another, and it’s just the right kind of silly to get kids and parents laughing together.

Catchy songs, a viral dance sequence, and little girls who overcome all odds to prevail. Based on the Olivier– and Tony-winning musical, the lavish adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic story introduces the brilliant but unappreciated Matilda (Alisha Weir). Fortunately, she’s helped by her classmates and her kind teacher Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch).

Maisie (Zaris-Angel Hator) is a young girl fascinated by the valiant sailors who slay dangerous beasts haunting the deep seas. Head deep inside the animal kingdom, where a tiny woodland creature named Ollie (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a regal bird named Ivy (voiced by Juno Temple) must swap bodies (and perspectives) to save their lush and magical wilderness. The two sworn enemies are forced to walk in each other’s feathers and fur as they embark on a wild journey together. The animated family adventure is a big-hearted story about empathy, teamwork, and protecting the world we share.

This movie tells the inspiring true story of 16-year-old Jessica Watson, the Australian teen who became the youngest person to sail solo and unassisted around the world. What if parents had to say yes to everything their kids asked for over the course of an entire day? That’s the premise of this family film. Jennifer Garner and Edgar Ramirez play parents who, feeling like they always have to turn down the indulgent and fun-filled requests of their three children, decide to let the kids make the rules for a solid 24 hours. To everyone’s surprise, these agreements take them on a whirlwind adventure around Los Angeles that brings the family closer to each other than ever before.
