Want to get to know the story of From Scratch... from scratch? Here’s your chance to crack open that recipe book and find out how the story of love, food and family first got cooking, ultimately making its way from the pages of a beloved memoir to a highly anticipated new series that starts streaming on Netflix on Oct. 21.

Join us for a live virtual Q&A with Tembi Locke, co-creator of the series and author of the original memoir, From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home, and From Scratch showrunner and co-creator Attica Locke on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST. The conversation will be moderated by Tudum staff writer Ariana Romero.

Participants will also get to see an exclusive trailer debut for the upcoming series at the event. You can sign up to attend here.

From Scratch is a cross-cultural love story that follows Amahle “Amy” Wheeler (played by Zoe Saldaña), an American student studying abroad in Italy, as she meets and falls in love with Lino (played by Eugenio Mastrandrea), a Sicilian chef. Their whirlwind romance faces many unforeseen challenges, including their very different cultural backgrounds; true to real life, it’s infused with lightheartedness and moments of humor alongside the more serious ones. When Lino is faced with unimaginable health challenges and the couple’s future is threatened, their two families come together to create an extended family unlike any they could have imagined, proving that love crosses all borders.

Get whisked away by From Scratch when the series premieres on Oct. 21.
