Madelyn Cline Thinks This ‘Outer Banks’ Fan Theory Is ‘So Fun’

“They’re one big question mark,” the Outer Banks star tells Skip Intro.

Between her scene-stealing role as Whiskey in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and the launch of the turbo-charged third season of Outer Banks, Madelyn Cline has barely had a minute to herself in the past few months. When she’s able to steal a moment, however, she spends some of that precious time catching up on fan theories surrounding the series. “I’m a big JJ–Sarah sibling fan theory fan,” she tells Krista Smith in a new episode of the podcast Skip Intro. “I think that would be so fun.”

Luckily for that line of thinking, Cline’s Sarah Cameron and Rudy Pankow’s JJ haven’t shared any romantic entanglements on the adventure series — at least, not so far. While Sarah has been coupled up with (and kind of married to) John B (Chase Stokes) since Season 1, fans were delighted when JJ and Kiara (Madison Bailey) finally locked lips at the end of the third installment after a season of will-they-won’t-they suspense.

“I just think it’d be really funny to see that they have the same mom or I don’t know, maybe they’re cousins,” Cline says, noting that we haven’t heard a lot about either characters’ mothers so far. “Plus, I feel like Sarah and JJ don’t really have a friendship. They’re friends, but they’re not close. It would be this funny glue that neither of them would’ve ever expected to be the siblings they never had.”

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Outer Banks Season 3 are streaming on Netflix now. For more great celebrity interviews, check out Skip Intro on AppleSpotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
