This article contains major character or plot details.

Derpy is a lovable supernatural tiger from the underworld whose clumsy charm — knocking over flowerpots, unable to right them again — and big heart make him instantly endearing. His mannerisms, like purring when petted, resemble those of an overgrown house cat. His character is based on the babo horangi (바보호랑이), a recurring figure in Korean minhwa, a style of traditional folk painting that flourished during the Joseon era.

Even if you’ve watched KPop Demon Hunters more times than you can count — as legions of fans have — there’s always more to learn about your favorite mysterious feline. Read on for everything you need to know.
