What’s an eligible bachelor or bachelorette to do when they just can’t seem to make traditional dating work? Sign up for a televised social experiment, of course! Season 18 of the reality show Married at First Sight heads to Chicago to turn the lives of 10 eager singles around. A trio of relationship experts pair the singles up based on personality, compatibility, and long-term goals. The only catch? The first time each couple meets, they’re already walking down the aisle. Cameras then follow the newlyweds over several months to see if they’re willing to trust the guidance of the experts and make their marriages work. To find out more about the couples in this installment of the series, (including a shocking cheating scandal that we won’t spoil for you here), read on. Along with the team of experts — Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson — here are this season’s newlyweds.

Karla, a 33-year-old Mexican hairdresser who says she manifests her own destiny, has worked hard to heal unhealthy patterns in relationships and is now ready to meet her husband. She hopes her match wants to build a loving family together like the one she grew up in.
Juan, a 36-year-old entrepreneur, feels like women don’t take him seriously as marriage material due to his looks, and is thrilled to be part of a matchmaking process that focuses on character. The Colombian immigrant has a strong connection to his family and seeks a bride who can appreciate his culture.
In Juan and Karla’s case, experts think that opposites will attract. Karla’s adaptability and openness will hopefully balance Juan’s no-nonsense pragmatism, particularly because they share similar cultural backgrounds, as well as a foundation of working hard to achieve their dreams.

Camille, a 32-year-old director of operations for a hair-care brand, wants to secure her future with a partner by her side. A longtime fan of Married at First Sight, she trusts the experts to find her a loyal, kind match.
At 42, Thomas has a well-established career as a banker, but wants more from life, particularly after witnessing his twin brother’s happy marriage. Despite being in a nine-year relationship prior to the show, Thomas failed to commit and now realizes his main obstacle in relationships is overanalyzing every detail.
Experts match Camille and Thomas due to their shared interests — dancing, music, and sports — and their complementary personalities that gravitate toward open communication.

Emem, a nurse practitioner who owns her own med spa, is done wasting her time with dating immature guys and is ready to meet a real man. That’s why the humble, hard-working 34-year-old considers Married at First Sight the perfect experiment for her.
Ikechi, on the other hand, has had a taste of matchmaking once before. In 2020, the 41-year-old high school counselor met with Married at First Sight’s experts while they were casting for the Houston season, but unfortunately, the matchmakers didn’t find the right person to pair him with. Now that he’s relocated to Chicago for a new job, they finally found him the perfect match. He feels he’s worked on himself enough to make a lasting partnership work and wants to pour himself into his future marriage.
According to experts, Ikechi and Emem make a great match thanks to their similar religious backgrounds and core values.

Outgoing and adventurous, 29-year-old Madison loves to travel when not hustling at her job as a technology consultant. After being single for two and a half years, she’s done wasting time with people she doesn’t see a future with, and hopes the experts of Married at First Sight will help her find her soulmate.
Thirty-five-year-old Allen, an established financial systems manager, thinks his genuine vulnerability, calm nature, and unwavering commitment make him an ideal candidate for the matchmakers. He hopes to find a match who’s as serious about building a future together as he is.
Considering their similar sense of humor, shared professional experiences, and future aspirations, experts think the pair could create a strong bond despite the differences in their personalities.

After six years of singledom, Michelle, a 38-year-old executive assistant and paralegal, is finally ready to let her guard down and open up to someone special. Eager to start a family, she wants a partner who is equally open to fostering or adoption as she is.
Running his family’s bar while simultaneously pursuing a degree in social work, 35-year-old David is no stranger to hard work. He’s ready to put the same effort into a romantic commitment and considers his parents’ decades-long marriage to be the ideal.
David and Michelle both want a hardworking partner who hits the right balance of fun and responsibility, which is exactly why the experts pair them up.
