The first responders in Fire Country face mudslides, fires at abandoned mines, and serial arson — but for them, it’s just another day on the job. The series, starring Max Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro, and Stephanie Arcila, follows an incarcerated man, Bode, who hopes to turn over a new leaf — and end his sentence early — when he becomes part of a prison-release firefighter program. The action-heavy procedural drama unfolds as Bode and his fellow firefighters fend off blazes in Northern California. For more high-intensity workplace dramas, check out the list below.

S.W.A.T.

In his native Los Angeles, a former Marine called Hondo (Shemar Moore) leads a crew of elite officers as they defuse deadly threats in the City of Angels. Based on the original series from 1975 and its 2003 film adaptation, the Emmy-nominated procedural drama S.W.A.T. stars Moore (Criminal Minds), Stephanie Sigman (Narcos), and Alex Russell (Under My Skin). It was developed by writer-producers Aaron Rahsaan Thomas (Friday Night Lights) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield).

Longmire

Based on the Walt Longmire novels by Craig Johnson, the crime drama series Longmire follows a sheriff (Robert Taylor) in Absaroka County, Wyoming, who’s been devastated by his wife’s death. With the help of his daughter, Cady (Cassidy Freeman) and his best friend, Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips), he begins to rebuild his life and reclaim his seat as county sheriff. Starring Taylor, Phillips, and Katee Sackhoff, the series was created by John Coveny (Yellowstone) and Hunt Baldwin (Rabbit Hole).

The Resident

The medical drama The Resident stars Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, a beloved senior resident at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. From creators Amy Holden Jones (Mystic Pizza), Hayley Schore (Call Jane), and Roshan Sethi (Call Jane), the series documents the lives of the Chastain Park medical staff as they deal with on-the-job crises, work-life balance, and romantic woes.
