There are plenty of GOATs, but only one Hawk.

It’s the kind of comeback story professional athletes dream of. Golf legend Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins has his eye on the PGA TOUR. Above you can take a new look at The Hawk, the upcoming series documenting Lonnie’s journey back to greatness.

“In golf, there is a saying: play it as it lies,” Hawkins narrates in the teaser. And that’s exactly what the aspiring champion will do, whether the ball is lying at the bottom of a sand trap or flying into an innocent pedestrian’s face. Have a sip of “Lonnie juice” and find out for yourself if golf is as easy as this guy makes it look.

Lonnie’s return to the world stage comes more than two decades after his seminal 2004 season. He’s bringing along his entire entourage: son Lance, a pro golfer in his own right; estranged wife Stacy; Lance’s fiancée, social-media influencer Natalie; and new caddie Sam. Of course, there are still old rivals left to vanquish: Golden Fisk, the pro golfer who’s beaten Lonnie twice; PGA TOUR board member Anton; even Stacy’s new beau, Radford. No one ever said this would be easy.

You can catch a glimpse of these colorful characters below in the series’ new first-look photos. And read on to learn more about the return of Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, and stay tuned for when the new comedy series lands on Netflix this summer.

What is The Hawk about?

Lonnie Hawkins (Will Ferrell), 2004’s number one golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic. His body says retire, but his heart says he’s not done yet. His ex-wife and his son Lance, golf’s new golden boy, know he’s through. But with one more major to win to complete golf’s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he’s anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history.
