‘That ’90s Show’ Is Getting That ’23 Release Date

Hide your stash — the Formans are back.

    Nov. 29, 2022

It’s been more than 15 years since That ’70s Show came to an end, but even after all this time, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) are still rocking in Wisconsin. (They’re all right! They’re all right! Yeeeeaaah!

In That ’90s Show, Rupp and Smith are back, and they finally have their home to themselves — that is, until their young granddaughter (played by Callie Haverda) tears into their lives and turns the Forman basement into yet another hangout spot for layabout teens. History has a way of repeating itself, you know. Check out the teaser for That ’90s Show below; the new series hits Netflix Jan. 19.

It’s 1995 and when Leia Forman (presumably named after Eric’s longtime love for a galaxy far, far away) arrives in Point Place, Wisconsin, she’s only expecting a quick trip to visit her grandparents. That all changes when she meets the Formans’ next-door neighbor and her crew of rambunctious pals. Soon, Leia has convinced her parents — yes, Topher Grace and Laura Prepon are back as Eric and Donna — to let her stay for the summer. Music, fashion and culture may have changed quite a bit since we last saw the Forman basement, but some things remain the same.

Joining Rupp and Smith in That ’90s Show is the original cast of That ’70s Show, reprising their parts in guest roles. Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Jackie (Mila Kunis), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) and the aforementioned Grace and Prepon all join Haverda (Leia) and her new Point Place pals, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos. As for whether any more ’70s Show alumni will pop up — you’ll have to watch to find out.
