Gabriel Basso Returns: The Night Agent Season 3 Is Now Streaming

A global conspiracy pulls Peter deeper into danger with no easy way out.

All 10 episodes of The Night Agent Season 3 are now streaming, and Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) faces his biggest and most dangerous assignment yet.

In Istanbul, Mexico City, New York, Washington, and beyond, our hero is forced to stay one step ahead of paid assassins in Season 3 while following a trail of secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees. The new action picks up after a brutal series of events in Season 2 left Peter sharper and far deeper inside Night Action than ever before.

When we last saw Peter, he stopped a bioterror attack on New York City and exposed the CIA’s buried Foxglove chemical weapons program. But he was also manipulated by billionaire intelligence broker Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum) into stealing classified UN documents, inadvertently helping Governor Hagan (Ward Horton) become president. Peter also parted from Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) to keep her safe, and was left with a new mission from Night Action boss Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren): Get close to Monroe, a man who potentially has the future president in his pocket.

The fallout from his previous mission shaped the Peter we meet in Season 3. “Now that Peter isn’t having to balance his personal life and work life, he’s become more monomaniacal,” Basso tells Tudum. Whether that focus is a strength or a problem is left up to the viewers, but it sharpens his edge. “I enjoyed being able to fully commit to a capable and more focused version of Peter,” Basso says, as the character moves deeper into isolation and responsibility.

Series creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan says this season is designed as an “adrenaline-fueled thrill ride,” stacking conspiracies and assassins — and uncovering the truth may be the biggest risk of all. Basso puts it simply: “Third time’s a charm.”

See how Peter’s most dangerous assignment plays out in The Night Agent Season 3, now streaming only on Netflix.
