Worst Ex Ever is back for Season 2 with four more true crime stories about relationships gone horribly wrong. Told from the perspectives of the survivors, each episode features animated reenactments, body cam footage, police interviews, and an inside look at how love can be used to mask deceit, betrayal, and violence. This season features a killer who shares a name with a Marvel superhero, a miraculous break in a 2011 cold case, a kidnapping and hostage situation, as well as a reality star from 90 Day Fiancé. Director Cynthia Childs (Worst Roommate Ever) returns for the second season, along with executive producer Jason Blum.

What happens in Worst Ex Ever Season 2?

Episode 1: “Dating the Deadpool Killer” — When Kelly Matthews falls for Steven in 2018, the last thing she expects is for her boyfriend to pawn her laptop, seduce her close friend, and brutally attack her while she’s taking him to rehab. After Steven leaves her for another woman, Kelly discovers that his name is actually Wade Wilson (also the government name of the Marvel character Deadpool), and he has a long rap sheet of criminal offenses. Wade’s violent behavior — including assaulting other romantic partners after leaving Kelly — turns lethal after he picks up a woman at a local bar, and police launch a manhunt to apprehend him.

Episode 2: “Primetime Predator” —Kristen Wilson, a teacher from Knoxville, Tennessee, has no reason to doubt the charming Geoffrey Paschel, who she matches with on a dating app in 2017 — until she discovers he has a criminal record and a violent past with more than one of his exes. Geoffrey convinces Kristen the incidents were blown out of proportion — but then he begins abusing her, too. When a neighbor calls 911 after Katie turns to her for help, Geoffrey is arrested. But while awaiting trial, the prosecution discovers Geoffrey has been cast in Season 4 of the reality series 90 Days Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alongside his online Russian fiancé, Varya Malina, who he’d been secretly dating.

Episode 3: “Fatal Attraction” — In 2016, Katie Long of Largo, Florida, starts a long-distance relationship with Atlanta resident Joyce Pelzer, who’d recently separated from her wife, Rosalyn Lewis. The relationship between Katie and Joyce blossoms until Joyce mentions that Shawndell McLeod, another ex of hers, went missing in 2011. Unnerved by Joyce’s demeanor while discussing Shawndell, Katie researches Shawndell and learns Joyce is a person of interest in her missing persons case. As Katie walks a tightrope to survive Joyce’s increasingly controlling and violent behavior, Joyce makes a chilling confession. Soon after, when Joyce says she’s heading to New Orleans, where Rosalyn lives, Katie becomes convinced that Rosalyn may be in grave danger.

Episode 4: “Ride or Die” — Newly divorced from her husband of 17 years, Karen Kummerer is single and ready to mingle. In 2006, just a couple months after Scott Freeman sweeps her off her feet, Karen invites him to move into her Daytona, Florida, home. But Scott isolates Karen from friends and family, and begins verbally and physically abusing her. When Karen gets a restraining order against him and kicks him out, he snaps.
