Gregory Bridgerton is the youngest son of the Bridgerton family and the second-youngest sibling overall. In the early seasons, he’s most often seen with his sister Hyacinth, adding levity to family scenes.

Gregory is curious, energetic, and eager to be included in the world of his older siblings, frequently observing their conversations and behavior. He clearly idolizes his brothers and expresses a desire to become a gentleman like them, even as he remains firmly in childhood during the events of the series so far.

Read on to learn more about the youngest Bridgerton son as he finds his footing.

Season 4

  • Gregory returns home from Eton. Eager to prove his maturity, he declares a preference for Scotch eggs and a stiff cup of tea over the jellies of his childhood.
  • Upon his return, Gregory’s older brothers — Benedict and Colin — tease him about his newly formed facial hair. They watch him as he gets his first shave, which quickly descends into a shaving cream fight among the Bridgerton brothers.
  • Gregory participates in Colin’s monthly dining club and seeks romantic advice from the married men present as he prepares for his sister Hyacinth’s recital and the accompanying mock ball.
  • At the youth ball, Gregory is nervous but excited to dance and develops his first crush on a Miss Rochelle.
  • Gregory displays real emotional growth following Lord John Stirling’s funeral, comforting Hyacinth during a vulnerable moment.

Notable scene

Gregory asks Anthony about their father in Season 2, Episode 8, “An Affair of Honor” (33:02–35:51)

Why it’s memorable: Gregory was a baby when Edmund died. So neither he nor Hyacinth really knew their father, who in the years since has grown into a little-discussed mythic figure. Gregory shows vulnerability when he asks about Edmund — and grows closer to his eldest brother, who has become more of a parent than a sibling. Gregory learns that his father shared his love of pranks and that he was a brave and loving man. Violet secretly overhears this conversation, so Gregory’s mother knows her youngest son is learning important Bridgerton family history.

Gregory attends Hyacinth’s practice ball and develops his first crush in Season 4, Episode 6, “Yes or No” (37:18–41:15)

Why it’s memorable: Gregory takes a step toward entering society when he attends Hyacinth’s mock ball. Eager to make a favorable impression on the “divine” Miss Rochelle, Gregory consults his older brother Colin for advice. Colin encourages his younger brother to be brave. Gregory misses the opportunity to ask Miss Rochelle to be his first dance partner when “360” begins, but the two exchange glances throughout the dance. Toward the end of the song, they are paired together, and he is able to start inquiring about her interests. Once the music stops, Gregory tells Colin, “I think I’m in love,” signaling that Gregory is beginning to navigate the world of romance, societal expectations, and Bridgerton family traditions on his own.
