Meet the Driven Lawyers of ‘Partner Track’

Arden Cho stars in the series about a group of young lawyers gearing for the same promotion.

    Aug. 22, 2022

The elite law firm Parsons Valentine & Hunt is a cutthroat place for everyone — especially for the hardworking associates gunning to make partner. In Partner Track, Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho) is a driven first-generation Korean American lawyer trying to survive in her stuffy, old-school (read: very white) workplace. Luckily, her supportive friends are there to help her break her way through the glass ceiling. (But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time for love.)

Before Partner Track makes its opening statement on Aug. 26, let us introduce you to everyone who takes the stand in Season 1.

Arden Cho

Ingrid Yun

Ingrid has a one-track mind: specifically, the partner track. Her goal is to become a junior partner at Parsons Valentine, which is filled with similarly ambitious and competitive young lawyers. As an Asian woman in a world traditionally run by white men, breaking through will take everything she has. On top of that, she’s also juggling a love triangle with her rich, handsome new beau and an old tryst turned co-worker.

Texan actor and model Cho is best known for her roles as Kira Yukimura on Teen Wolf and Emily Choi on Chicago Med.

Bradley Gibson

Tyler Robinson

One of Ingrid’s best friends is also one of her biggest competitors for partner: fellow lawyer Tyler. He and Ingrid bond over their shared experiences as people of color in an extremely homogenous workplace.

A Broadway veteran — he played Simba in The Lion King on Broadway ahead of the 2020 shutdown — and accomplished actor, Gibson can be seen on Power Book II: GhostKung Fu and in the recent Jane Austen adaptation Fire Island.

Alexandra Turshen

Rachel Friedman

Ingrid’s other best friend and co-worker, Rachel, isn’t as committed to the lawyer life. She’s trying to figure out what she wants both personally and professionally as she hits 30.

New York actor and theater veteran Turshen is best known for roles on Ray Donovan and the coming-of-age comedy Red Oaks.

Dominic Sherwood

Jeff Murphy

Recently transferred from London, Jeff is a dashing English lawyer with a past — he and Ingrid had a steamy one-night stand six years prior, and it appears the spark may still remain. He’s also one of her main competitors in the partner race.

Sherwood is best known for his role as demon-fighting Jace on Shadowhunters. His other past roles include Gestapo bodyguard Kurt on Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and vampire Christian in the film Vampire Academy.

Rob Heaps

Nick Laren

A member of New York high society, Nick is a handsome, friendly millionaire who immediately takes a liking to Ingrid. He and Ingrid hit it off on their first date (at a gala, how glamorous!) and their relationship begins to grow.

Prior to Partner Track, Heaps portrayed jilted husband Ezra on Imposters, Dr. Josh Cohen on Good Girls and a cheerleading coach’s husband on Dare Me.

Nolan Gerard Funk

Dan Fallon

Ingrid wants to make partner, but Dan wants it so bad he doesn’t care how low he has to stoop. The epitome of white privilege, Dan doesn’t really care about morals or how wrong it is to take credit for Ingrid’s (or anyone else’s) ideas.

Canadian actor Funk has a background in gymnastics and diving and speaks fluent English, German and French. He played Conrad Birdie in a Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie, guest starred as Hunter, the intense Warblers captain, on Glee and was the 2014 face of Versace menswear. Catch him on acclaimed series The Flight AttendantCounterpart and Awkward, and in films including RiddickTruth or Dare and The Canyons.

Matthew Rauch

Marty Adler

Ingrid’s boss in the ultra-competitive mergers and acquisitions department, Marty is a high-powered guy with a soft spot for employees just like him (read: white men). He’s intimidating and intense, and Ingrid is constantly working to impress him.

Rauch is an actor with a long history of TV credits, including The Terminal ListBanshee and Blue Bloods.

Desmond Chiam

Zi-Xin “Z” Min

The son of Min Enterprises scion Franklin Min, Z put his business acumen to use creating the green technology branch of the company. He’s a do-gooder with a strong moral compass and wants to make sure his eco-friendly work is continued after his father sells the company.

You’ll recognize Australian actor Chiam from previous TV roles including The Falcon and the Winter SoldierThe Shannara ChroniclesWIth LoveNow Apocalypse and Reef Break. Fun fact: He has a law degree and even worked as a lawyer for a stint before  trying his hand at acting.
