Fall in Love All Over Again with This ‘Set It Up’ Blooper Reel

Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch are magnetic.

    March 8, 2023

Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch stole your heart when Set It Up premiered in 2018. Prepare to be charmed all over again by these freshly uncovered bloopers of the workplace rom-com. If you thought you loved Powell and Deutch as scheming assistants Charlie and Harper, just wait until you get a glimpse of them goofing off on set.

No wonder their chemistry still feels so powerful five years later — they couldn’t stop giggling in between shots (and during them).

In one standout moment in the video, Powell and Deutch sit in a row of bleachers, pretending to be at a baseball game. Deutch gets so caught up in the moment, she snatches a full bag of popcorn out of Powell’s hand and douses herself with the  contents. Powell, ever the supportive scene partner, doesn’t react to the kernel-heavy mayhem… until the shot is over and the entire cast breaks out into laughter.

Only then do Powell and Deutch lean into each other and share a knowing chuckle that makes your heart feel like it hit a home run.

Two people standing together indoors, one with an arm around the other. The environment has decorative bubble shapes hanging from the ceiling and soft lighting, creating a whimsical and cozy atmosphere.

The pair’s lighthearted banter shines through in Set It Up, which follows their characters as they attempt to set up  — get it? — their demanding bosses, Kirsten (Lucy Liu) and Rick (Taye Diggs), without them realizing it. As Harper and Charlie focus on keeping their employers busy with each other, the assistants naturally start falling for each other. This is a love story for the burnt out masses.

Although Deutch and Powell are the romantic leads of Set It Up, their on-screen mentors also get some silly moments too. Liu kicks off the video with an icy glare so intense, Deutch can’t help but laugh; later you’ll spot her laughing at a moment so ridiculous she needs to hide behind a newspaper. And, not one to be outshone, Diggs fully embraces his goofy side, popping and locking and playing off of Powell.

So, set yourself up with a good time, and press play on these bloopers.

And make a date to rewatch Set It Up.
