Accomplished neurosurgeon Maggie (Kohan) is joined by her boyfriend, Andrew (Allan Hawco), at a prestigious dinner in Boston, where she’s set to receive an award for her medical accomplishments. But just as she begins her acceptance speech, Maggie has a run-in with law enforcement. Uh-oh.
Before we can find out what illegal deeds Maggie may or may not have taken part in, we’re whisked away to Sullivan’s Crossing, a quaint community within the town of Timberlake, an idyllic seaside locale in eastern Canada. It’s Maggie’s hometown, where she’s fled to get away from it all — sans Andrew — and to reconnect with her father, Sully (Patterson), her childhood best friend, Sydney (Lindura), and her family friends the Cranebears (Jackson, Menard). Maggie also connects with a handsome local named Cal (Murray), which may complicate things with Andrew.
