Oil up that chainsaw, because a horror legend is making his frightening return. The trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the latest entry in the iconic horror franchise, dropped today, and it serves up a claustrophobic ghost town full of chills, thrills and gore. If you thought Ghostface or Michael Myers were scary, wait ’til you meet the hulking powerhouse that is Leatherface.

Picking up nearly 50 years after the original 1974 bloodbath, Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows sisters Lila (Elsie Fisher) and Melody (Sarah Yarkin) as they travel with their friend Dante (Jacob Latimore) to the deserted ghost town of Harlow, Texas, in hopes of turning it into a social media utopia for all their well-off entrepreneur friends. Can anyone say “gentrification”?

Once there, they’re greeted by Harlow’s few remaining residents. Among them is Richter (Moe Dunford), Dante’s handyman, who’s been hired to help rebuild the town. The group then stumbles upon a mysterious house that’s been holding a deep and dangerous secret for the last five decades.

Also coming back to relive some trauma is final girl Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the lone survivor of the events in the original film. This time, though, she’s prepared and has honed her survival skills since her first encounter with Leatherface. Armed with a personal arsenal, she heads to Harlow to end his rampage once and for all.

As the tagline of the original asks, “Who will survive and what will be left of them?” Fans won’t have to wait long to experience the carnage for themselves — Texas Chainsaw Massacre slices its way onto screens on Feb. 18.
