Beignet Blanc Is on the Case in a New Sesame Street x Knives Out Crossover

Who ate Cookie Monster’s pie? The answer lies right before our googly eyes.

    Dec. 2, 2025

For years, Knives Out fans have been crying out for an unlikely crossover. Flamboyant detective Benoit Blanc is used to investigating colorful suspects, they plead. So why shouldn’t he investigate a cast of literally colorful suspects?

Just in time for Blanc’s latest mystery, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, these requests have finally been answered, in surprisingly felted fashion.

As part of Netflix’s new partnership with Sesame Street, a new “Forks Out” video from Sesame Workshop sees Cookie Monster’s triple-berry pie devoured by an unknown suspect. This is a case that calls for the greatest puppet detective this side of Sherlock Hemlock.

A blond puppet in a beige suit smiles in a warmly lit, indoor setting with a colorful, blurred background, creating a welcoming, cheerful mood.

Meet Beignet Blanc, the smooth-talking doppelganger of Daniel Craig’s Southern-fried sleuth. “I have arrived to this street of Sesame,” he drawls, “on a sunny day turned cloudy.” This Blanc is on the trail of a culinary culprit. Could it be Oscar the Grouch? Elmo? Zoe? Cookie Monster himself?!

You’ll have to watch to find out. One thing’s for sure: Beignet Blanc gets to the bottom of the mystery with a deductive skill as deft as his human counterpart. Eagle-eyed whodunit scholars will spot nods to The Murder on the Orient Express, Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case, and even oft-forgotten Sesame Street resident Herbert Birdsfoot. Beignet Blanc has done the reading.

Be sure to catch Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery on Netflix on Dec. 12. And stream a new season of Sesame Street on Netflix right now.
