Watch Max, Abby and Norah’s Audition Tape for ‘Ginny & Georgia’

Here’s where “MAN” — minus the G for Ginny — began.

Ever wonder how “MAN” formed on Ginny & Georgia? And yes, we’re talking MAN as in M for Max (Sara Waisglass), A for Abby (Katie Douglas) and N for Norah (Chelsea Clark) — Wellsbury High’s trio of best friends before Ginny (Antonia Gentry) moves to town and they become MANG. Which sounds so much  better, right? Right?!

Well, Tudum found your answer in the archives: Let us present Waisglass, Douglas and Clark’s audition tape for Ginny & Georgia. Put together by the show’s casting directors Alyssa Weisberg, Jason Knight and John Buchan, MAN’s camaraderie is easily apparent in the three scenes featured in the chemistry read above.

Slightly changed but pretty much intact, MAN’s scenes are all pulled from Season 1’s second episode, “It’s a Face, Not a Mask.” So if you watch closely (or rewatched Season 1 recently), you’ll be able to line them up pretty seamlessly.

The select scenes feature the trio practicing their makeup routines, giving Ginny the good old school tour — labeling the red section of the hallway as the spot where “delinquents and stoners” like Max’s brother, Marcus (Felix Mallard), sit — and Max heartily sharing that she makes out with all her friends. Plus, the official origin story for MAN, per Max: “People call us MAN — Maxine, Abby, Norah — because we’re inseparable.”

While MAN seem like they’ve been friends for ages in the clip, that isn’t so far-fetched, especially for Waisglass and Clark. They both starred in Degrassi: Next Class. (And we can’t forget that their Ginny & Georgia co-star, Raymond Ablack, was on Degrassi: The Next Generation.) “People online are like, ‘I can’t believe three Degrassians are now on Ginny & Georgia,’” Waisglass tells Tudum.

Think you’d be worthy of adding your initial to MAN? Watch the video above and see if you’ve got what it takes or if you’re, like Abby says, “the definition of second tier.” Love you, mean it. Hate you, kidding!

Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia is streaming now.
